Charter: 5117 Year Opened: 1898
The First National Bank of Juneau was the first national bank to open in Alaska. Like all three Alaskan national banks, it existed when Alaska was still just a territory. However, unlike the other banks, it issued notes that said "territory" on it. This is important to collectors. Territory notes are very popular and heavily collected. Both of the 1882 issues for The First National Bank of Juneau will say "territory."
The First National Bank of Juneau is also important because it is a state capital. There are several collectors who like to have a note from each state capital.
It opened in 1898 and issued four different types of notes.
