Delaware National Bank Notes

Delaware issued national bank notes from 28 banks in 21 different towns. Delaware had the fewest national banks of any state east of the Mississippi river. There are many national bank notes available from Wilmington and Dover.  After that the supply of Delaware notes really dries up and the prices increase.  Of the contiguous 48 states, only Utah has fewer 1902 red seals known to exist.  The population of Delaware is small enough to where there aren’t many pure Delaware collectors out there.  However, many nationwide collectors need a national bank note from Delaware and this can drive up the prices of rarer types of national bank notes from the diamond state.
