New Mexico National Bank Notes

New Mexico National Bank Notes

New Mexico issued national bank notes from 63 banks in 34 different towns. If you want to buy a true territorial national bank note, then something from New Mexico is going to be the most affordable.  New Mexico was a territory of theUnited States up until 1912, so all national currency printed before then will be aNew Mexico territorial national bank note.  Compared to territorial national bank notes from Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, and Arizona, notes from New Mexico are by far the cheapest.  There have been a couple collections of New Mexico national bank notes sold in the past two years.  In fact one bank from New Mexico, which has three notes known to exist, has seen all three notes sell at different times in the past year.  Ironically, in a world that prizes red seals, 1902 territorial blue seals are actually worth as much as their debatably more attractive counterpart.  National bank notes from New Mexico which were printed after 1912 are state notes, and far less desirable.
