Charter: 7718

Year Opened: 1905

The First National Bank of Fairbanks should really be a much rarer bank than it is. Fortunately for collectors, in the middle part of the 20th century a hoard of 1902 red seals was discovered. The First National Bank of Fairbanks was the only bank of the three in Alaska to issue red seals, so the discovery was very important. Small size notes from The First National Bank of Fairbanks are also available, but surpisingly more rare than red seals. However, the price of such will not always reflect the rarity. Generally speaking large size notes are more in demand.

The First National Bank of Fairbanks opened in 1905. It would issue over a half a million dollars worth of currency, making it the largest issuer in the state.
